Challenge the Oracle

There was a discussion about perfect play in another thread. I setup the bot to play the losing side of a tablebase position. In order to reach the setup, you need to follow the sequence of moves exactly. Any variation and the bot will resign the game. The bot always plays silver. The first move as gold after the setup phase is a normal 4 step move. It is NOT the 2 step move used in the endless endgame event. The bot is playing as bot_clueless_test If there are any problems, requests etc. please let me know. First Position: Required path to setup: 1g Ra1 Rb1 Rc1 Rd1 Re1 Rf1 Rg1 Rh1 Da2 Hb2 Cc2 Ed2 Me2 Cf2 Hg2 Dh2 1s ra8 rb8 rc8 rd8 re8 rf8 rg8 rh8 da7 hb7 cc7 md7 ee7 cf7 hg7 dh7 2g Cc2n Cc3x Ed2w Ec2n Ec3x Cf2n Cf3x 2s cc7s cc6x hb7s hb6e hc6x rc8s 3g Hb2e Hc2n Hc3x Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x 3s rc7s rc6x md7w mc7s mc6x da7e 4g Rb1e Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x Ra1e 4s db7e dc7s dc6x rb8s rb7s 5g Rb1e Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x Da2e 5s rb6e rc6x ra8e rb8e rc8s 6g Db2e Dc2n Dc3x Rd1w Rc1n 6s rc7s rc6x rd8s rd7w rc7s rc6x 7g Rc2n Rc3x Me2n Me3e Mf3x Rf1n 7s ee7s ee6e cf7w ef6x rf8s 8g Rf2n Rf3x Hg2w Hf2n Hf3x Rg1w 8s rf7s rf6x hg7s hg6w hf6x rg8s 9g Rf1n Rf2n Rf3x Rh1w Rg1w 9s rh8w rg8w rf8s rf7s rf6x 10g Rf1n Rf2n Rf3x Dh2n Dh3n 10s rg7s rg6w rf6x dh7w re8w 11g Re1w Dh4w Dg4w Df4w 11s ce7n 12g De4n De5n 12s rd8w

Quote:2014-03-03 23:01:34 chessandgo thanks. Why not post the link in the forum thread? |
| Yes, why not. http://harvey.alwaysdata.net/puzzle_map2.html It's a clusterfudgy single 450k html file for now. I'll have to make a proper database when it gets too big. The format was intended to allow a raw text-search. There are three numbers above each board. The first is a unique position id. The ids are assigned to unique positions in chronological order since the first game. Positions are identified by the positions of the pieces and the side to move (not the move number). The second number is a hit count, and the third the id of the game where it was first played. The numbers after the links are the id and hits of the target position. Since a few paths are merging, the sum of the hits of the next positions is sometimes greater than the hits of the current one. I'm changing this every other day, so this description might become quickly obsolete. Thanks for putting the oracle online! The puzzle was finally cracked in game 295159 (which will be in the db file tomorrow, I guess).

Whoop whoop! For jdb's and the solvers team thoughts, see the chat archive, 2014-03-04 01:54:01 UTC. (some thoughts from the team just before that too)

| I can put up another one. What level of difficulty? The first one was a medium.

I would like a harder difficulty (since the first one was solved pretty fast)

For instructions, see the first post. I have to do some testing before I put two positions up at the same time. Second Position: Required path to setup: 1g Ra1 Rb1 Rc1 Rd1 Re1 Rf1 Rg1 Rh1 Da2 Hb2 Cc2 Ed2 Me2 Cf2 Hg2 Dh2 1s ra8 rb8 rc8 rd8 re8 rf8 rg8 rh8 da7 hb7 cc7 md7 ee7 cf7 hg7 dh7 2g Cc2n Cc3x Ed2w Ec2n Ec3x Cf2n Cf3x 2s cc7s cc6x hb7s hb6e hc6x rc8s 3g Hb2e Hc2n Hc3x Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x 3s rc7s rc6x md7w mc7s mc6x da7e 4g Rb1e Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x Ra1e 4s db7e dc7s dc6x rb8s rb7s 5g Rb1e Rc1n Rc2n Rc3x Da2e 5s rb6e rc6x ra8e rb8e rc8s 6g Db2e Dc2n Dc3x Rd1w Rc1n 6s rc7s rc6x rd8s rd7w rc7s rc6x 7g Rc2n Rc3x Me2n Me3e Mf3x Rf1n 7s ee7s ee6e cf7w ef6x rf8s 8g Rf2n Rf3x Hg2w Hf2n Hf3x Rg1w 8s rf7s rf6x hg7s hg6w hf6x rg8s 9g Rf1n Rf2n Rf3x Rh1w Rg1w 9s rh8w rg8w rf8s rf7s rf6x 10g Rf1n Rf2n Rf3x 10s ce7e cf7s cf6x rg7w rf7s rf6x 11g Re1w Dh2w Dg2w 11s re8w rd8w dh7n dh8w 12g Df2w De2s 12s dg8w df8w de8w

All positions should now be accessible at the same time. Would it be possible to change the Oracle such that if there are multiple equally long defenses, that those that have not been refuted over the board are tried over those that have been?
