Speaking of New Zealand disasters, my wife (username Elmo) just read that the sky-diving instructor who jumped with her many years ago at Fox Glacier died in a plane crash while taking up yet another tourist for yet another jump. I guess if I were a sky-diver, that's how I would want to go... I wonder how many times he got to jump in his long career. Anyway, as a pro-tip for dealing with potentially contaminated water, I was far too lazy to boil water in my two years in the Peace Corps. Instead I just put a capful of chlorine bleach in every barrel. Worked like a charm. Of course I can't say how much brain damage I suffered from drinking bleach, but at least it killed everything else that might have been living in the water.

| Unfortunately, I don't know how well the plane crash will be remembered. Sad for the people involved.
