Thanks, Omar. And... Is it possible providing more ladder bots? I am developing my own bot now, bot_aimaazon and bot_arimaator is too slow to be used as a tester. Just wondering, forget it if there is any inconvinience. Thanks again!

You might want to try out the bots on this page: http://arimaa.com/arimaa/bots/ For example you could start bot_GnoBot2005Fast and have your bot play against it.

Arimaanator runs from my local XP box. I installed some software and rebooted, I forgot to restart Arimaanator. Thanks for the reminder. It should be up now.

It seems now that Arimaazon is no available in the lobby. We've had a small uptick in the number of new players recently, and it would be a shame not give them a variety of bots to play. (Although I think CluelessP1 might be a more interesting substitute for Arimaazon.)

Gnobot missing

I think something must have happened to Gnobot2005CC. It timed out when I was playing several CC bots simultaneously, and now I can't start it at all. Racking up wins against the other bots doesn't score any points in the qualifying contest if I can't win against Gnobot too. Also it looks like bot_Arimaanator is down again.

I'm starting to think that Omar's computer is too slow to play Gnobby simultaneously with many other bots (including the constantly running Bomb_P4 of course). When I set it up for the tourney I let it use a fair bit of memory for its hash tables - I wonder if that is close to using up the entire RAM of the computer it's now running on. The reason it might timeout is that it only checks the clock every few thousand moves. Usually that occurs about every 0.2 seconds. If it's within 15s of timeout, it aborts thinking. So it should not timeout ... ... except that if this computer is giving it 75 times worse performance, it may not even poll the clock once during the final 15s.

| Clueless2005 checks for timeout the same way. It also times out alot. I have changed it, so the time is checked in a separate thread, a few times a second. Quote:When I set it up for the tourney I let it use a fair bit of memory for its hash tables |
| Clueless2005 also used all the memory it could for its hash tables.
