Forum notification bug

The bug is that when you "follow" a thread (ie you have it in your notification list), the edit page has the "be notified" check box unchecked nevertheless, requiring the user to check it again and again. Worse, each time you modify a post, the notification status is automatically canceled, requiring the user to go through the "notify me" series of pages again. (EDIT: not each time though, as I could see on this very message) There might be some admin option that causes the problem, or maybe it's a big hidden bug. I don't see anything related in the user options.

I think this is a bug in the forum software. I don't see an admin setting for this. For the most part the forum software has worked pretty well and I haven't bothered to upgrade it. I've been meaning to upgrade it, but it's one of those things that never makes it to the top since there are always more pressing things to be done.

I agree there are many more important things to bother about Especially if there's no easy solution to the problem. Thanks anyway, Omar!
