lost sound in javascript client

For my Windows XP computer (as opposed to the Windows 7 computer), I have no sound in the Javacsript client. Am I the only one with the problem? Is the sound button that says "M-" supposed to change when I click it? I am using the Chrome browser.

Today I had sound again. Also I had the '<))' button instead of the 'M-' button. Is the client changing or am I getting different clients at different times? Anyway, at least momentarily, I have no problem.

| I think the game client setting gets stored on each computer you use, so you may be getting different clients on different computers.

I see what happened now. I thought I would get the same client from "No client selected" as from "JavaScript Client", since the JavaScript client is the default. But no, they are different. One has an 'M-' button and the other has a '<))' button. The former gives me no sound, but the latter works for me.
