I was just wondering if there were any plans to update the forum software. I noticed at the bottom of every forum page (yes, just now after all these years) that arimaa.com is running version "1 Gold -- SP 1.3.1", copywrite 2000-2003 . I checked out the website and apparently they are up to version "2.5 AE" now, released July 5, 2010. That's two years ago. I don't know if it's strictly needed or not, but there are also, apparently, a ton of "New and Enhanced Features", "Bug Fixes", "Link Fixes", "Layout/Format Fixes", & "Spelling, Text and Instruction and Images Fixes". Maybe worth investigating?

Yep, Omar knows about the new versions. Apparently, though, one can't upgrade directly from our version to the latest; there is a multiple-upgrade sequence that must be followed to save all of our history. Since Omar is in short supply, and since (I suspect) this isn't something he can have someone else do without root access, I'm not sure when this will happen, or whether it will be left indefinitely pending a new Arimaa server written from the ground up.
