Facebook app

It might be worth building a facebook app to play arimaa to get the word out. Just the nature of the social networking site would spread arimaa without us doing anything but having the app on our profiles. Plus there would be some advertising revenue that could be used to pay for hosting this site and such. Just a thought.

I think this is about the third time this was suggested. I am all for it, but I've never written a facebook app. Is anyone familiar with writing facebook apps.

There is plenty of documentation on how to write facebook apps, google will readily find tutorials wikis etc. for instructions. Essentially it seems that they can be written in any language the facebook API is available in, such as PHP, Ruby and Python. Considering that there's only 18 people in the facebook group there is a long way to go as far as raising awareness through that medium is concerned!
