IAGO's tracking games on here and IGGameCenter

Hello everyone.

This is currently in test mode, but we welcome people to sign up and be part of this project here.

There is currently a leaderboard up that tracks Arminaa and other abstract strategy games, giving ratings and so on to players who register at the site.  You can see info on the leaderboard here:
http://leaderboard.iagoweb.com

For Arimaa games played on here and on iggamecenter.com are tracked.  We have one Elo rating for games across all sites.

If you have an interest in getting your results assigned to you on the website, please sign up at the IAGO website, and then follow these directions to associate your ID here with your IAGO profile.  Once done, results will get tracked.  I believe prior game results on here will also be part of your records being tracked.  Also, if you play more than Arimaa, there is also possibility of stats of that game to also being tracked, and a combined rating for all the games you play.

The documents on how to do this can be found here:
http://iagoweb.com/wiki/docs/associations

You can start here and do the steps.  Also, please contact me if you have any questions.  Please note that we are still testing, so you may hit spots where the website may be down.  We do appreciate your patience.

That is awesome Chris.  It also looks like you entered in the right ID there.  People have been getting it wrong for the various sites.  I also looked under your profile and I see 70+ records of Arimaa you have played.

The rater normally runs every 6 hours though, so it would be a few hours before your games show up.  I believe we are pulling the records once a month off here, and then rating these.

Also, currently ALL games, timed and untimed, are being lumped together.  We can use some input on how to maybe differentiate between these.  IGGameCenter is also lumping them.  Please give input on what you would like done.

We do welcome more getting involved, so we can get feedback here.

Hey Chris, your are now are in the leaderboard for Arimaa:
http://iagoweb.com/records/games/arimaa

You currently have most wins (WLD category, which is you playing anyone).  Elo on the Arimaa site would be your games vs anyone else registered at the IAGO site.  We need people to register in order to be able to have a spot set aside for them to track their results.

Nice!   Smiley

I see it knows how to omit my games against bots, including only my games against other humans.

Thanks for including the games from the arimaa website!

Welcome.  We would like to be able to get as many abstract strategy games and sites, so we can find the best of the best.  We have hope we can make the sign up process easier also.  I do look forward to seeing more sign up.  Please feel free to invite others if you can Chris.

The data files used flag whether the person is a human or not (or unidentified) and doesn't count those.

Awesome.  You also look like you got it right to:
http://iagoweb.com/records/users/35

I look forward to seeing the rater get you in there.  Check back Monday on your profile to see your records.

One way to make sure you entered the right user ID for the site here is to click on the ID you entered.  If it brings up your profile here, you did it correctly.

Interesting.  I just signed up.

Does this calculate your rating based only on games against others registered in the same system, or does it use all your HvH games?

Thanks for signing up.  On the IGGameCenter, you need to be a certified user on that site to be able to get your games rated.  I believe both users have to be certified there.

As for the ratings for yourself, the WLD category counts wins, losses, etc... against other human players, whether they are signed up with the IAGO site or not, will be tracked.  For an Elo rating there, you need to play someone who is also signed up at the IAGO site.   I believe this is so, although I am not fully sure if who you play in the IGGameCenter also has to be certified for WLD (it might be).

Jean (chessandgo) thanks for signing up.  It is an honor you signed up.  We could always use more top players at games signing up (and all players for that matter).  I had a feeling it didn't look right, and thought Jean may of referred to you actually.

Anyhow, welcome aboard.  I do recommend everyone who signs up/in on there click on the ID and see if it looks like your profile.  The ID number you enter in isn't your number you see, but the one on the far right.

The more that people sign up, the higher and more accurate the Elo rating on the IAGO site would be.

In the latest news, Jean (chessandgo) is the top player for multiple categories on the leaderboard.  Jean has the highest Elo rating among ALL the game types, highest average Elo weighted and otherwise.  Jean is also #2 in total wins.

Hello Arimaa community!  If you want to push your game further, PLEASE sign up at the IAGO site, so we can get more results in there.   I do want to add that the results here will only be added to the IAGO site once a month though.

Does there exist other communities around a recent (say, at most a few decades old) strategy game such as the arimaa community? As far as I saw the only websites mentioned by IAGO besides arimaa.com are multi-game platerforms. (Then you don't find another arimaa any other day, or any other decade, or any other century perhaps, especially along with a man wanting to commit to it like Omar did for arimaa ^^)

I played a bit of amazons and lines of action a couple weeks ago, liked them, especially LOA, I might start playing them after the WC is over.
