The arimaa.com was transfered this morning to a faster server. If you notice any problem please report them through the contact page:
  http://arimaa.com/arimaa/contact/

The hardware for the new server is:
  http://arimaa.com/arimaa/challenge/2010/hardware.html

The old server was:
  http://arimaa.com/arimaa/challenge/2008/hardware.html

Now I can focus on getting the 2010 bots online.

Awesome.  I don't know the benchmarks, but two years more advanced hardware should be roughly 2x the capacity.  Hopefully the bot timeouts we had experienced at peak loads will now go away, at least until we have double the user base.  Smiley

It does seem like the responsiveness of the site is a lot quicker than it used to be but maybe I am just imagining it.

Judging from the specs omar posted, it should be about 3x more powerful (twice the cores, from 2.13 GHz to 2.83 GHz, bigger CPU caches and faster RAM). Both are Intel Core 2 CPUs so the architectural differences should be slim to none.

Another nice difference is the 64-bit OS, though the bots currently on the server don't take advantage of that. If we counted that it would be a 5-6x boost in total for bitboard-based bots, pretty impressive.

Clueless will use the 64 bit OS. Since Java is a virtual machine, it will make use of the 64 bits automatically.

Interesting, I didn't think of that. So even assuming clueless is using a single core in the arimaa server, we could well see its ratings jump up significantly soon.
