Relative ratings of "newcomers"

Using the data generated by the application of the Whole-History Rating system (with prior=1.37 and w^2=232 Elo^2/day) to all rated human games, I plotted for every player, the difference between his or her (retroactively calculated) first rating and the then average (interpolated) rating of every other player that had both a game no later as well as one no earlier than that former player's first game: Of course, a "newcomer" here could have had any amount of bot-playing experience on the server beforehand.

Given the same system parameters and type of games, this time I plotted for each player, the result of subtracting his or her earliest rating from the then highest rating among players having games at least as old, taking the latest rating if a player had no games at least as new:
