My first thought is that I have no idea. I tried a few lines and find it much less obvious than Puzzle 6. On the other hand, it is so much fun to hide text with the background color, I simply can't resist! It makes me feel all special, like I have a big secret to whisper. But maybe nobody will fall for this trap.

Great, post count +1. So I've got: 2s Ra2ee da1ne 3g Db1w Ca5ess 3s Rc2e db2e, and I think silver wins by pushing Gold's Rabbit to e3 on the next move. When I started to look at the position I went "wow, no way!". Rabbit advancement, rabbit advancement

This puzzle is much more difficult than I intended. Both attempts so far need to address the subtle 4g Da1e Db1n !!!

I had a different move for 3s - I flip the cat to B1 instead. Is this any good? (I haven't found a refutation yet, but I wouldn't swear there isn't one - as you say, this is a tougher position than it looks!)

| What's whit the people putting their answers in that color? Edit: mmm the problem seems to be that you put a space after color= (color= #AFC6DB), that causes some browsers to put that text in a very visible green color, if you don't put the space it works fine (color=#AFC6DB).

easily the hardest one yet ... I just now finally got it moves?Ra2e da1n Rb2n Da2e Db1w Ca5e Cb5e Cc5s Rb3n db2n Rb4n db3n Da1n Rb5n db4n Rb6e Rc6x db5n edit: if the cat moves differently then there is a completely different line that I just found where gold is again forced to make certain moves but puzzles like this can go in a few different direction.

Ginrunner, Doesn't 3g Ca5s Ca4e ra3n Rb3w kill your plan? Don't get me wrong - you still might have the right 2s. This one is so complicated!

that was the different line I said in my edit. i still think it wins ... let me refind the line in that case. edit: yes every line I have so far leads to a win due to two things but there are so many different paths from there that I could be wrong (I don't think I am). more:That cat move eventually leads to Ra3 Db3 ra4 dc5. Then the advanced rabbit has a major advantage from the 2 decent moves gold can do after that. Gold can not make a threat without opening up a threat but again this line is fuzzier.

But if there is only one solution - doesn't it require there to be only one winning line? JDB, can you please verify?

| Since this puzzle is difficult, I'll give some clarification. If gold plays the longest defence, silver wins on 9b. On silver's first and second turn, there is only one winning move. On gold's first turn, there is only one move that is a strong defense. After that there are more possibilities.

So in order to solve - we need to find the line that silver wins on 9b?
