What a brain burner! It looks ridiculously hopeless for Silver, as Gold seems to crush every attempt, but after half an hour, I think I finally have it: 2s rd7s rd6s rd5s cb5e 3g Dh4w Dg4w Df4w De4s (the only move to stop 3s cc5e rd4s rd3s rd2s) 3s rd4w rc4w cc5w 4g De3w Dd3s Dd2w Dc2w (the only move to stop 4s rb4s rb3w ra3s ra2s) 4s rb4e rc4e rd4e re4e 5g Db2e Dc2e Dd2e De2e (the only move to stop 5s rf4e rg4s rg3s rg2s) 5s rf4w re4w rd4w rc4w 6g Df2w De2w Dd2w Dc2w 6s rb4e rc4e rd4e re4e 7g Db2e Dc2e Dd2e De2e 7s rf4w re4w rd4w rc4w and the only Gold 7g that stops goal would be three-fold repetition, so Silver wins on 8s. Thanks, jdb!

Wow, nice motive. JDB@ was it generated by hand or was it taken from endgame tables?

I agree that it looks hopeless, and haven't yet found anything that works. It's soooo tempting to look at Fritzlein's solution, but I will try to resist for a while...

| All these puzzle are from endgame tables. I just look for interesting positions. A summary of the tablebases is available at: http://arimaa.com/arimaa/mwiki/index.php/Tablebase_Data

I didn't stand a chance on this one. I just looked at Fritz did. I would have never guessed that.

I have tried bot_Hippo on this one. It took 37s to solve it.

nice solution, got it in about five minutes...i'll check it against fritz's wait, where is fritz's? i think there are actually a few solutions, but they are after a set of forced moves

| Hmmm, it solves the puzzles rather quickly, but the answers are sometimes wrong ... back to debugging.
