Did anyone think to a handicap system suited for arimaa such as in shogi or go ? For example 1. Ply handicap Before his first move, the beginner could add, one two, three or more moves according to the level gap. 2. Piece handicap The better player should begin with removed pieces : cat handicap ; dog handicap ; horse handicap ; camel handicap; camel + cat handicap etc...

I don't think there is such a system if you play against bots. If you play against humans you can just let the stronger player suicide as many pieces as the handicap should be (or make waiting moves for move handicap). For that you should probably ask in the chat if anyone wants to play handicap games.

You can play a handicap game against a bot if you sacrifice your own pieces. It's been done already. If you need to handicap the bot in order to have a level playing field then just play against a weaker bot. There are so many to choose from (from extremely weak to unbelievably strong).
