I believe I have overcome all the remaining hurdles to making Faerie compatible with the bot ladder. So now, I have left three copies of Faerie running:

bot_Faerie is essentially unic's Fairy, unmodified, running on Omar's server.

bot_FaerieP1 and bot_FaerieP2 use the same eval with a simpler search algorithm, depth-limited to 4 steps and 8 steps respectively. They are running on my server at home.

The depth-limited versions are coded to quit and return the best-yet move when 95% of their turn time is up. bot_FaerieP2 inevitably uses all of that time each turn; it is pretty slow compared to Bomb or Arimaazilla. However, I believe it plays much worse than bot_Faerie despite using the same eval and time, because the full Faerie uses a whole host of clever search optimizations that seem to make a big difference.

I have left all three running so that the community can gain some experience with them. Enjoy.

Does anyone know how to get them to automatically play against the bot ladder bots periodically?
