The 1st round of the Open Division is complete. You can begin discussing possible game dates with your next opponent but you can’t begin the 2nd round games until July 17th, and the round will continue until October 8. Again, the player on the left is gold in games 1, 3, 5, 7. The player on the right is gold in games 2, 4, 6.

The Arimaa Points (AP) earned in the 1st round and shares are shown below. I’ll send the points today, so if you don’t receive them soon please let me know:

There is one match remaining in the U2200 section. I haven’t heard from either player recently, so I’ll remind them to finish their remaining games in the next 12 days. Once that match is complete I’ll post the pairings for the 2nd round.

All seven matches have been completed without a single forfeit in the first round. Thanks everyone! Here are the 2nd round matches: the player on the left is gold in games 1, 3, 5, 7 and the player on the right will be gold in games 2, 4, 6. You can play practice games this weekend if you like but the second round doesn't officially begin until Tuesday, July 17th.

Im not sure but I think your math might be off (ignore this if I misread the rules) but 6.5 + 2.5 = 9 games/shares?

You received 1 point for each win for a total of 4. You and your opponent each received 0.5 shares for each unplayed games 5, 6, 7, bringing you up to 5.5. And everybody received 1 share for not forfeiting, which in your case brings you up to 6.5.

There were a total of 36 shares awarded and each round in the U2200 division has a prize pool of 5500 points. So each share was worth about 15.2777 points in this round. I'm pretty sure I got all the math right but if there's any specific rule that you think I missed, let me know.

Keep in mind too, that everyone will receive 1500 points back at the end of the tournament for the refundable portion of the entry fee.

ginrunner and I will play our first game on Sunday, July 22nd, at 9AM PST. Depending on the time, we will probably play a second game after that.

There are about 6 weeks left in the second round. Some of the matches haven't begun yet, so try to schedule at least one game every week, if possible.

Remember, if you and your opponent are having trouble reaching mutually agreeable times then we can use the scheduler to find the best time. If you have any problems please contact me sooner rather than later. Thanks.

We're in the final week of the 2nd round. A few matches need to finish up (including mine) so I'll run the tournament pairing algorithm on Wednesday evening.
