I have created the announcement, wiki entry (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/mwiki/index.php/2014_Weekend_Tournaments#July_12_Open_Swiss_Tournament), and registration page. Registration (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/events/reg.cgi?e=2014wt04) is optional, but please do sign up if you intend to play so that everyone knows how well-attended it will be!

Questions, comments, and corrections are welcome.

There will be a World Cup match that day, although it's merely the one for third place.

Given the distribution of our players, let's hope it isn't Germany vs. the U. S. in that game!

It seems the World Cup only cost us one absence plus one connection problem. The participation was again excellent, even one game higher than the record set last time. The number of HvH games per round was 3-5-5-3-4-3-4, for an average of 3.86. A big thanks to everyone who played!

So, Janzert, when is the next one?

Woot, looks like the boost from regularly scheduled tournaments is outweighing the summer doldrums.

My tentative plan for the August tournament is August 23rd, although there is still some possibility of moving it a week either direction. I will try and get a firm date out by the end of the month.
