This thread is for World Championship players to post game time rescheduling notices, resumption of play after a forfeit and appeals to game timeout results. Please do not use this thread for discussion on any topic.

If posting a rescheduled game please remember that both players must post. The new time slot* must be given and it must be posted 24 hours or more before the new time.

* Please be sure to include the desired time slot number as given on the time preference setting page. Including the actual time will also help as a confirmation that everyone is agreeing on the same thing, but the time slot is the primary basis for the official time.

I missed my game today because I thought that the game time given in the Round 1 email was in my timezone.  I only ever looked at the email on my phone and clearly did not read it closely enough.  I didn't give it a second thought until it was too late.  I would like to continue to participate in this year's tournament.

A bug was discovered in the pairing program this morning, this resulted in some of the games this round having incorrect matchups. As the games are already paired, scheduled and player notifications sent out the currently scheduled pairings will be used.

The corrected pairing method will be used for future rounds.

In the round 2 game between SaemusSweeney and Heyckie (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/gameroom/comments.cgi?gid=411476), unfortunately SaemusSweeney was not seated within the 15 minutes allowed by the rules. Therefore the result of this game is a forfeit win for Heyckie. In order to match other forfeit wins this game has been unrated.

Given that SaemusSweeney is obviously still interested in playing, I am not requiring any further notice from him to remain in the tournament.

Hi Janzert.

Today extremebob accidentally didn't show up to our game so he lost by forfeit.

I just checked the results and it says "abandoned" rather than "forfeit" for my game.  Can you change the result code and credit me with the win?  My game still showed up as "in progress" even after the 18-minute spectator delay was over, and after getting approval from the TC I left.  I was logged in to the chat room at the same time and everything I said is part of the public record.  Please PM me if there is anything I need to clarify.

Sorry for the confusion. Until now I needed Omar to correct these abandoned results and I sent him an email to change it yesterday evening. He corrected it this morning. The extra part is, he also set it up so I can fix it directly should it happen again in the future.

When I notified Brass2010 via email that he had to post his desire to continue explicitly in this thread, he responded to me instead at 1/26 4:30 EST
"Hi I am still interested to play in this tournament."
I am going to try to get him to post here, but I suspect there might be language issues. If this fails, might it be possible to accept this as a post on his behalf?

Edit: Perhaps it makes a difference to note that he is now in the consolation section.

Given that this concerns the Swiss section, it should not be a big deal to treat fritzlforpresident's absence in round 4 as a bye and reinstate him in round 5.

Given that the current rules really don't make any allowance for a player rejoining after missing one or more rounds and that I'm not completely confident that the site infrastructure would handle it well, I'm not going to add anyone back in if they aren't paired for a round.

I'm sorry I didn't hear that fritzlforpresident wanted to continue in the tournament, but it's now too late to get him back in. :(

I forfeited my round 4 game against Supersamu due to not being able to open and login to Arimaa gameroom. I want to continue playing in the WC.

P.S.: I had similar problems during my R2 game against Adanac as well. It looks like I am the only one having this problem, although I was able to surf on the net without problems while I was trying to login to the gameroom for an hour. Please feel free to give me some suggestions in order not to repeat those problems anymore in the upcoming rounds.

Mostly I was not able to connect arimaa.com from 20:55 to around 21:45 in my local time (my game was scheduled for 21:00). It was loaded couple of times, but then I was not able to login. I guess the answer to your question is both lightvector.

Hi! Really sorry for the mistake... Apparently I'm not getting the slots in UTC...
I agreed with Stephen for 17:00 UTC, so that would be slot 90. He followed my mistake on the slot number. Hope this clears things up.

So I feel unrating the game (or not) is beyond the tournament jurisdiction. It certainly has no effect on the tournament either way.

Taking my TD hat off; personally I don't mind unrating it but would like to get a community consensus on it. Any discussion on it should take place in another thread though.

If you think it is beyond the tournament jurisdiction then the power should be give back to the two players participating in the match as it is in every other rated game.

Not sure why this has to become a discussion; the only reason this has been brought up is because neither I or Jdb can manually do it ourselves.

That's right, we have agreed to slot 96.  I apologize, browni, for failing to save my changed times after our discussion in chat.  I appreciate your rescheduling to a time that works for me, given that you could by rights refuse and win the championship by forfeit.  :o  I'm sure you will take much greater pleasure in crushing me over the board, though, so it is for the best.
