as I say in the game comments, this was my 6th arimaa game ever. but I thought the outcome was worth noting.
I had lost the last 2 bot matches I went through and was beginning to think I just sucked and needed a lot of practice. well, maybe I still do. but I seemed to catch bot_shallow blue in a rabbit kamakaze spree, bringing me a win.

and of course, I welcome any comments to improve my game. I'm not much on strategy yet. I just do what's needed to stay alive.

You played a bit too risky in the opening. On 4g the elephant could have pushed your camel to e4; you could have saved it, but lost the cat. On 15s elephant could have pulled the camel into the f6 trap. As you move up the ladder, you will have to play more cautiously to win against the stronger bots. Just be sure to check the traps before sending your move.

thanks for the tips. I guess I'm trying too hard, since being over cautious in other strategy games tends to be my downfall.

and it never crossed my mind that I should be overly vigilant of the traps. remembering that will be most helpful.

here's hoping for greater games in the future :)
