Title: Wheel of Fortune
Post by Fritzlein on Jan 30th, 2014, 3:16pm
If you live in the United States, watch Wheel of Fortune tonight (January 30), because my wife Katie Hoody (the Silver player in the rules video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Tjwid2Q4PY8)) will be a contestant.  Peace --Fritz

Well done!

I hadn't watched the show in years. It has changed a lot.

Yep, the game keeps evolving, mostly for the better.  The bonus rounds are probably more interesting than they used to be, the tossups are a good innovation, and all the goodies on the wheel add variety.  The most recent innovation, "the express" is pretty dumb and hopefully won't be back next year, but you didn't get to see it in action in Katie's show.

Anyway, thanks for watching!

Woot just finished watching it. Very nicely done.

Oh and Fritz, you're going to have a lot of Arimaa winning to do to catch up now. ;)

Is there any convenient way to watch it after the fact?

To reply to myself, yes there is (if not entirely legal :P).

Awesome stuff Fritz, congrats to Katie and you.

PS: So much clapping in this show!

Thanks for watching, Ricardo.  It was a fun journey for Katie and me.

Katie was under strict instructions to clap for the other contestants when they were spinning/guessing, and indeed the clapping was part of her audition to get on the show.  I and other members of the audience had a sign flash to tell us when to clap, and also one or two people standing in front of us urging us to clap more vigorously.  I believe that Vanna White is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most clapping on TV of anyone ever.  So, yes, there is indeed so much clapping in this show!

For some reason that show didn't work here. They tried it for a year or maybe two and then it stopped. I never watched it personally. All I know is that it's basically a hang man with a roulette.
