Title: Re: Xeranox says hello Post by Xeranox on Mar 21st, 2015, 4:56pm Didn't see the reply until now, but I guess your question is still relevant. :P Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy chess very much! However, as my chess.com postal rating saturated at ~2000, I realized I would get no further without putting a real effort into it. With two toddlers, I don't see that happening anytime soon... So I wanted to try something new. Of all abstract strategy games (besides chess) I have tried, Arimaa is my favourite. It has some of the feel of chess, but I like that the more strategic nature of it (less crazy tactics). Also, I like the combination of simple rules and extreme game complexity. At the moment I'm just enjoying playing on a beginner level, without really pondering too much about the moves. |
