I'm a long-time Chess player (peaked long ago at ~2000, but am much worse now) and a fan of abstracts. I came across Arimaa during my explorations and it intrigued me to no end. Of course, a life time of Chess (and Checkers) has not prepared me for the enormity of Arimaa. Needless to say that my first few games have been... specious... at best. That said, I see that there is something special going on here. Therefore, I'd like to say hello and I hope this is the start of a fruitful collaboration (so to speak).

Hop on board! I expect that the closer you scrutinize, the more it will confirm your initial impression that Arimaa is something truly special.

As a fellow chess-alumni and Arimaa-beginner, welcome on board.

If you are coming in with the perspective of a chess-player, you will have high expectations. This is a good place to start from.

I hope these are met and exceeded. :)
