Title: Playing on Linux 64bit Post by nbarriga on Apr 7th, 2006, 5:45pm I installed Fedora Core 5 for x86_64. Since there is no flash for 64 bits, i had to install a 32bit browser. Now everything in flash works just as it did before(on my 32bit OS), except for the arimaa client. I can't see any of the timers now. I've already played 2 games, and it is stressfull to have to guess how much time i have. I tried using opera and firefox, and the results are identical. Anybody had the same issue? Anybody knows how to fix it? |

Title: Re: Playing on Linux 64bit Post by omar on Apr 9th, 2006, 8:46am I was thinking that maybe the font is not being found, but I think X does automatic font substitution so that's probably not it. |

Now that you mention it, i can't see any of the text on the game window, so that's probably it. Do you know how to fix it? |

Title: Re: Playing on Linux 64bit Post by RonWeasley on Aug 4th, 2006, 12:54pm I just got a new x86_64 linux machine here at Hogwarts and now I can't view any current games or use the "old" game table. I can replay games using the new viewer. Until Macromedia has a 64 bit version of flash or the new game table becomes operational, I can't play or watch. Filch frowns on adding non-Hogwarts functionality to my computer. This means I can play only from The Burrow on our dial-up and will therefore play my owl games that much more slowly. At this point, I am going to decline all game invitations until I see how many games I can handle (I can't dial in all the time with my family about). I hope this doesn't inconvenience the people I'm currently playing. |

Title: Re: Playing on Linux 64bit Post by nbarriga on Sep 11th, 2006, 11:56pm I found a fix for anybody having trouble with fonts on the flash plugin: as root type: mkdir -p /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fs/ an then: ln -s /etc/X11/fs/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fs/config and that's it! Happy playing! |
