Title: Gameroom Feature Requests Post by IdahoEv on Jan 9th, 2007, 4:40pm Since we all know Omar doesn't have enough work to do. :-) Feature request: 1) Whenever a championship game of any sort (Human, computer, challenge, whatever) is actually in progress live, a visible/colored banner would appear at the top of the gameroom indicating such. It would show which tournament, who was playing, and provide a link to view the game. 2) Postal games. In addition to the "it is your turn against xxxxx" email when it becomes your turn in a postal game, it would be nice to see a "you are running out of time against xxxxx" when you only have 24 hours left to make your move. This would help those of us who sometimes get distracted by heavy workloads, and help reduce timed-out games. (Incidentally, I'd be happy to write either or both of these if given access to the relevant code.). |

Title: Re: Gameroom Feature Requests Post by omar on Jan 11th, 2007, 7:05am Thanks for the suggestions Evan. Rather then try to make these changes myself, I'll setup a development server and give you access to that. Setting up the development server will be more effort than making the changes, but I think it will be worth it in the long run. Will let you know when it is setup. |

Title: Re: Gameroom Feature Requests Post by IdahoEv on Jan 11th, 2007, 12:24pm Wow, that would be really incredibly cool. I will try very hard to contribute enough to make it worth your while. |

Title: Re: Gameroom Feature Requests Post by Janzert on Jan 11th, 2007, 1:01pm Would a public source repository (svn, cvs) be any easier with a possibly bigger payoff (larger audience able to contribute)? I know others have expressed interest in helping with the server coding before, but I don't know how many are still around and able to contribute. Janzert |

Title: Re: Gameroom Feature Requests Post by IdahoEv on Jan 11th, 2007, 7:01pm I think the trouble with subversion-only (as opposed to a testing server, instead of in addition to it) is that it could be hard to check if your changes were working. Testing is good. |
