Good to see arimaa.com is up :)

Heard from Fritzlein that there was a "disk failure" over the weekend. :(

Yes, the main disk failed and had to be restored from a nightly backup. I think some games (and other data) that occurred after the nightly backup has been lost. Also there could be some inconsistencies because the nightly backup happens while the site is active.

Also some postal games might have timed out.

The gamegrapher had downloaded up to game 60620, it looks like the backup restored to 60595*.

I could see about dumping those games back out of the database if you wanted to try and reload them.

Thanks for offering this Janzert. But I think it's probably too late to pull these games into the main DB now. It would have to be done before restarting the site. Also it would require updating the player ratings to sync with the game results.

I kind of thought that might end up the case. Now I just have to get them out of my databases to stop the conflicting gameids. :}

In case anyone should want to look at these "lost games" in the future I've placed a database dump of them in (hopefully) the same format as Omar releases the games at http://arimaa.janzert.com/lostgames.txt
