Title: Re: New new game room page Post by omar on Mar 30th, 2008, 4:51am If anyone is noticing a problem with the gameroom Evan designed, please announce soon. Otherwise I will assume it is working OK and make that the default. I was able to test it in FF and IE6 on WinXP and it worked just great for me. I really like the new design. Thanks for the fantastic job you've done with it, Evan. |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by The_Jeh on Mar 30th, 2008, 8:07am There's the issue of a player's invite flag, when it is on, appearing to be off to everyone else. - Unless that's been fixed. It's hard for one person to tell. |

Yes, it is a very nice design indeed. I just noticed a minor problem with the new gameroom (either version of it). In the My Games section, the little red number, indicating the move number, for the first game where my opponent has to move next, is increased by 1 each time show/hide or the [-]-button is clicked. When the page is refreshed it is correct again. In my case the first game where my opponent has to move next is also the only game where Gold has to move next so it is possible the problem occurs for the games where Gold has to move next. IE6 on XP and also with FF2 on XP |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by Fritzlein on Apr 1st, 2008, 12:47pm Thanks, IdahoEv. This layout looks very slick and professional. (I guess I shouldn't be surprised, since you are a professional!) |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by Fritzlein on Apr 2nd, 2008, 9:12am In the "scheduled games" section, I can see that the nine games of the Arimaa Challenge have been scheduled, but I can't see the dates and times for which they have been scheduled. I guess I'll just have to hope I get lucky enough to be on-line when the games are happening. :) |

Yes, I noticed that too and fixed it shortly after switching to the new new gameroom. |

The order in which the scheduled games appear in the list doesn't look te be the most logical order. The game sheduled first is at the bottom of the list. I would expect it at the top of the list. |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by The_Jeh on Apr 4th, 2008, 3:09pm Would there be any easy way to add a feature that can be turned on and off that would show, under each game in the list of live games, who is observing each of those games? |

It just might be nice to know for sure, when you get that feeling, whether someone's watching you. It's a feature that's often included on chess and Go servers. Nothing necessary, or anything. And I agree that the new gameroom is a step up. Very classy. |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by mistre on Apr 5th, 2008, 5:15pm For me personally, I would rather not know who is watching a game of mine, but if the feature is optional, I guess it is fine with me. |

Title: Re: New new game room page Post by Fritzlein on Apr 6th, 2008, 8:37pm Omar, it seems that my invite flag is getting turned on after the first game of a simul finishes, even if I am still playing. I make this inference because, after finishing one game of a two-game simul, an invitation popped up while I had thirteen seconds left on my clock in the other game. Then in my next simul, with three games this time, after I had lost the first game, an invitation popped up when I had about twenty-five seconds left in each of the other two games. A few seconds of distraction can make a big difference in a situation like that! Could you please double-check the code for the invite flag and make sure it works with simultaneous games? Thanks! |
