The graphics are better, the sounds are better, the animations are better.

Please Omar don't phase it out.

In a way, playing with the first version somehow feels more "real" than with the second one. Steps in the former are accompanied by a much more satisfying tapping sound than the latter.

Well, I might be one of the few that prefers V2 to V1, largely because the expert mode is very convenient for planning postal moves. But it would be nice to still have V1 around.

V1's movements and sounds are more fluid and natural, but I do like many of the improvements Omar has made in V2. And when I'm on dial-up, V2 loads much faster. With a few cosmetic tweaks, V2 will be my client of choice in the future.

I prefer V2 for the expert mode and the move list capability. The one thing I actively disliked about V2 was the way it would replay a move after it had been sent, but now Omar has fixed that. Oh, and the missing ticking sound in V2 was an issue, but I understand that has been fixed too. I don't really notice the sounds and animations much, except I like that V2 allows the animation to be sped up for blitz games.

I just switched to V2 to try it out. It's fine for me, except that on Vista I can't get the plan window to come up. Internet permissions? I don't really need it because of expert mode, although there's nothing that indicates whether expert mode is on or off.

One advantage of V2 is that in plan or expert mode, one does not hit SEND to get to the next move. This means I can train myself, or Hermione can train me (yum!), never to click on SEND unless I am sending my actual move. This will cut down on accidental SENDs (but not simply bad moves).

I am still using V1. But only because I am used to it. So I tried the V2 out today.

I prefer the movement and the sounds of the V1. But that wouldn't keep me from switching to the V2.

The expert mode is just great. Thanks Omar for adding such a feature. For me the expert mode may automatically be turned on every time I open a game window.

The change speed feature can be handy especially in fast games, so that's a bonus too.

The 4 buttons (Plan Window, Get Move List, Game Comments, Help Window) on the right below the move list aren't working for me. Nothing happens when I click one of those.

The V2 isn't working in all situations for me. When I start a new game or open a game from my current games then it is fine. However when I open a game from the Recent Game List or from My Recent Games I only get an empty window. When I open a game from My Game Record I always get V1 no mather what client I have selected.

I tried the V2 on XP with IE6.

I just tried the V2 on Vista with IE7. I am having the same problems here. When I click the Get Move List button I get an error message which translated from dutch sounds like: "Can not download. Unspecified error." I get this message only with this button.

What about the arrows? I like the blue/orange arrows of V2 better. Did some people prefer the V1 arrows?
