I got a bit curious to find how many people have completed the bot ladder. Although one could click on the "Ladder" link on each players stats page to see where they are on the bot ladder, it would be very tedious and time consuming. So I setup a program to gather this once a day and a web page to see the result.

I am surprised how many top level players have not bothered to complete the bot ladder. Maybe they got bored before making it to the top :-)

I'll bet there are some people who completed the bot ladder at some point in the past, but aren't on your list because the ladder has changed since then.

Did you use having beaten the top bot on the ladder as a proxy for having beaten the ladder? I notice Eltripas (my current auto-postal opponent) is listed on that page but his ladder page says he hasn't beaten Bomb2005P2 or Bomb2005Fast.

To go along with what Fritzlein said, I'm hoping to complete the current ladder shortly before the new bots from this year are added or replace the current set.

Yes, I would guess that if we included them the list would be closer to 70 players.

What's interesting is that some of the bots that were originally on the ladder and were taken off I never defeated. I think I never played Clueless2005CC and some of the 2006 Gnobot versions.

Why can't bots be part of that list? Given that there is currently only one that has managed to complete the ladder (OpFor), I think that such a rare feat deserves to be publicized.

I agree. Any bot that finishes the bot ladder deserves recognition too.

Raj, The fast bots and blitz bots in the ladder are crazy... I saw my uncle finding them too difficult.

Karl, my uncle's handle here should be "Kruschak".

A year earlier, he invited me to play the game using chess board several times. He sent me the links of several top players game record pages to us.

His message before the links: "For Arimaa, do learn from those, they are the best players online. My advice: Beginners should play arimaascore for familiarising the interface, then play clueless2005P2, then bomb2005P2. After that, the CC bots and top human players. Be responsible, don't inflate the bots, unrate casual games."

I'm still playing the bot ladder. Didn't find it "flawed" as he claimed.

I am glad you are enjoying the bot ladder; it seems you are making very quick progress on it. You are halfway through it already!

I am scared of bots! Why? i cant do any negotiation with them.... :(
