Title: Event games link is broken Post by camelback on Nov 17th, 2009, 2:24pm Event games link is broken for couple of days now. http://arimaa.com/arimaa/gameroom/eventgames.cgi The link is also not available from gameroom. Is it officially removed? May be I'm too much obsessed with this link ::) |

Title: Re: Event games link is broken Post by Arimabuff on Nov 17th, 2009, 4:51pm I don't think you are obsessed, it is my favorite link too. It's so practical, I hope Omar can do something about it. |

Title: Re: Event games link is broken Post by omar on Nov 24th, 2009, 1:23pm It got deleted somehow and I didn't notice it until Arimabuff mentioned it. It was also removed from the backup disk since it is mirrored once a day. So I'll have to rewrite it. |

Title: Re: Event games link is broken Post by Janzert on Nov 25th, 2009, 4:44pm Omar, I don't know if it's the latest version or even the right script but I noticed just now while downloading the old game archives that there is an eventgames.cgi script in that directory (/arimaa/download/gameData). It might save you from rewriting some of it at least. Janzert |

Title: Re: Event games link is broken Post by omar on Dec 9th, 2009, 9:37am Thanks Janzert. The 'Event Games' page is working again. I think what happened is that I was in gameroom directory and tried to move some event games archive by doing a move of eventgames* and caused the eventgames.cgi file to get moved as well. Glad I didn't have to rewrite that :-) Thanks. |

Title: Re: Event games link is broken Post by Fritzlein on Dec 9th, 2009, 11:02am Thanks for fixing it Omar; it's a very handy page. It's a bit noisy to have a different link for each round of an event. I would prefer to be able to click on one link to get the games of "One Day Swiss 20091205", rather than having to follow four different links. Furthermore, I don't think the code change to fix this would be too hideous, because you have used a consistent naming convention. If you trim off a terminal R# (not sure of the regexp for a number) then the different rounds of each event will collapse. Of course, fixing this is a lower priority than, for example, getting a page to track the progress of qualifying for the 2010 CC, but I thought I would at least document the feature request. :) |
