Title: Client issue in postal game Post by DonEsteban on Jan 3rd, 2011, 11:52am Hi, my first postal game against the bot has just started. The first couple of moves where normal. However, after closing and re-opening the client window, I got the following: The bot's last move is shown, but I can't send in my move. I can execute my move, but the "Send" button still shows "Waiting". My time is running, my time is 14977d17h39m8s Resv: 0s, bot's time is 0, Game Time: unlimited, and the client rattles and rings from time to time. This was the Javascript client. With the flash client I could send in my move and won on time. Umm... this somehow doesn't seem right ;) |

Title: Re: Client issue in postal game Post by Fritzlein on Jan 3rd, 2011, 12:32pm Yep, that definitely doesn't sound right. I see you as playing game 209163 with ArimaaScoreP1, but I can't see any moves in the game no matter which client I use. If that is the game in which you made several moves normally, then I don't know why your moves aren't displaying. If that's a new game, I don't know what happened to your previous one, and I don't see any record of it. Either way, I can confirm that there is an issue that Omar needs to investigate. |

Title: Re: Client issue in postal game Post by DonEsteban on Jan 3rd, 2011, 4:50pm No, that's not the game. That's a second game. I received a second "Automatic Pairing" mail one our after the first one with identical contents. Except for the game number. The first, flawed game was 209159 and I can't find any record of it now. So somebody or something must have recognized that the first one wasn't okay. I'm trying to reproduce the problem with the second game and I have a different problem now: I can't load the game any more, flash client says "Gameserver: No Game Data". It seems that some combination of accessing the game via Game Room - My Games, and via the link in the mail and refreshing the Game Room page results in a problem. I'm sorry if this causes anyone headaches, I was just trying to get familar with the interface. Edit: I got a third mail now. I'll try not to mess it up this time ;) Edit2: I won by illegal bot move. Bot tried to move to times in a row, it seems. |

Title: Re: Client issue in postal game Post by omar on Jan 4th, 2011, 6:42pm I made a minor change to the JavaScript client on Jan 2nd to prevent the 'no game data' error message after a game has finished. I don't think this should have caused the problem you saw. If you are able reproduce it, let me know. Fastest way is to send a Problem report from the Contact page. |
