Title: "it's your move" email: don't spoof users Post by russ on Feb 10th, 2012, 5:00pm The emails I get that "it's your move" pretend to be from the email address of my opponent instead of from arimaa.com. 1. It's unnecessary and inappropriate from a privacy point of view to reveal other user's email addresses. 2. It often causes warnings in my email system that the message may not be sent by who it claims to be sent by and could be a phishing attempt. 3. It might be a cause of some emails being misdiagnosed as spam. Why don't the emails simply say truthfully that they're from arimaa.com? Thanks, russ |

Title: Re: "it's your move" email: don't spoof Post by Fritzlein on Feb 10th, 2012, 5:03pm I agree. I don't care who gets my e-mail address, but giving it out should be my decision, not a consequence of playing a postal game. |

I favor that too, I'm always puzzled with emails from unknown opponents.. Another improvement would be to have just one email after the last login and not one per oponent. |

I actually like getting an email for each game, with a clickable link taking me straight to that game. (Probably because I find the website navigation non-intuitive... so the emails let me totally bypass the website navigation.) I just wish they'd have correct From: field data (arimaa.com instead of the opponent's email address)... |
