Title: arimaa board... Post by nao_vou_por_ai on Apr 30th, 2006, 3:03pm As promised by kamikazeking, here are some pictures of the boards we use to play with... we asked a friend to do them... and it's really very good playing on them, instead of playing online all the time 8) this one looks like the real thing: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v95/nao_vou_por_ai/imagens/arimaa1.jpg this one is a "runes" style arimaa: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v95/nao_vou_por_ai/imagens/arimaa2.jpg this one, we really love the wooden board: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v95/nao_vou_por_ai/imagens/arimaa3.jpg hope you like them! ;D |

Title: Re: arimaa board... Post by Fritzlein on Apr 30th, 2006, 4:37pm Awesome. I regularly analyze at home on my chess board, which is convenient, but not aesthetically pleasing. on 04/30/06 at 15:03:57, nao_vou_por_ai wrote:
Is your friend taking additional orders? How much per set? That reminds me to ask: Omar, what sort of licensing terms would you consider for the production and commercial sale of Arimaa sets? I think there is a market for a few dozen boards... |

Title: Re: arimaa board... Post by kamikazeking on Apr 30th, 2006, 5:23pm And he isn't showing our coffee set: a board sewed in canvas and 2d wooden pieces 8) fritzlein&chessandgo: didn't i told you that i had better things than my arimaa tactics? ;D |

hi Fritzlein... i was very pleased that my friend did this for me... and she asked me if someone out there would ever want something like the ones she did... she charged me 65 euros for the set with the pieces that look like runes. i didn't think twice as i knew that there's a lot of work involved... and i wouldn't do it myself ;) And there's no arimaa sets for sale... so... i was very lucky to find someone willing to do them 8) |

Title: Re: arimaa board... Post by omar on May 13th, 2006, 12:53am Wow, real Arimaa sets; cool :-) I've always used a Chess set for OTB games, but I guess a set that looks like the online version would be more appealing. Being some of the first Arimaa sets ever created I bet these sets will become more valuable over time. |
