I must be missing how that defends.  Here's my line:

2s re7w rd7w rc7w rb7w
3g Ra4e Rb4e Cd5w Cc5w
3s rf8e rg8s rg7s rg6s
4g Rc4e Rd4e Re4e Rf4e
4s ra7s ra5s ra4s ra3s
5g Cb5s Cb4w Ca4s
5s ra6s ra5e rb5e rc5e
6g Ca3e Cb3s Cb2e ra2e
6s rd5e re5e rg5e rf5e

and one of the rabbits goal on 7s.

So, where's my mistake?

You're solution is correct.
I'll have to make the next one tougher.  :)

Yay.

Actually, when I asked what move defends, I expected you to say "none" instead of giving me the move that most prolongs the goal.  I was trying to get an indication that I had found the winning line without revealing all of it, so that others could try to find it too.

On the other hand, arimaa_master did much better than me on Puzzle 4, a much harder puzzle, and it was entertaining seeing him work through the problem.

If I understand what JDB means by there being only one winning move, all other moves lose.  He's not asking for the best (fastest) winning move, but the only correct move.  So to be perfectly clear, you could ask not what move defends against your suggestion, but what move causes your suggestion to lose the game.  Then the answer would either be "none" or a move that shows you would have converted a won position into a loss.  :)
