Title: resign on forced goal? Post by froody on Nov 20th, 2009, 4:32am Is it bad sport to resign when you see your opp has a forced goal? On the one hand it makes sense, cos you don't really have any move you can make. But on the other hand it seems mean because you deny your opp the satisfaction of goaling. I always try to get as close to goaling as possible on my turn if my opp has a forced goal. |

Title: Re: resign on forced goal? Post by Arimabuff on Nov 20th, 2009, 4:57am I think the rules of etiquette require that you play to the end no matter what but I am known to break them on occasions, especially against bots. |

Title: Re: resign on forced goal? Post by RonWeasley on Nov 20th, 2009, 5:11am I'm always happy to hear the clapping or the rooster at the end. If I'm losing, I feel like I shouldn't deny the winner that experience. If someone resigns against me, I suppose I feel a little disappointed, but only a little. I have occasionally wondered if the opponent was mad at me. In a small number of games, there have been swindles where the forced goal was hard to see and got missed, so I think beginners shouldn't resign. Depending on your point of view, that's most of us. |

Title: Re: resign on forced goal? Post by lostcalpolydude on Nov 24th, 2009, 1:20am If a forced goal is imminent, then the game should be just about over. Stick around and let the other player wrap up. Or fail to wrap up while you come back, maybe. |
