Title: pushing/pulling
Post by tuti on Dec 17th, 2009, 6:28am
I don't understand push pull - when can one push one's enemy piece into the trap - is it possible for an elephant to push an0ther elephant into trap?  Also, I don't understand how, when playing bot programs to push my pieces "to the side" when the bot piece is clearly not pushing down.  I thought that pieces can only move sideways, up down.

In the upper left corner of the game room (under Navigation), is a tab that says Learn.  Put your mouse over it to reveal a menu.  The top item on the menu is Flash Tutorial.  Click the flash tutorial to watch it and it should answer all your posted questions.  Feel free to ask any new questions you have.  Hope this helps :)

Nope, equal pieces can't push each other, and in particular an elephant can't push the other elephant.

When you push a piece you can move it into any adjacent empty square.  If all three adjacent squares are empty, you have a choice of three directions to push the piece.  But your piece, the one that is doing the pushing, has only one choice, and that is to occupy the square where the pushed piece started out.
