Title: what is a postal game? Post by asfaklive on Feb 9th, 2010, 10:38pm What does it mean when it is said 'postal game'? Can anybody explain me the difference of this type with others? Or May I know the types of the games with explanations? Regards. |

Title: Re: what is a postal game? Post by woh on Feb 10th, 2010, 4:04am The difference is the time control used. A game is called a postal game when you have 1 day or more for each move. A game that is not postal is called an interactive game. In such a game you have typical between 15 sec and 2 minutes to move. |

Post by omar on Feb 10th, 2010, 2:55pm You might also find the Arimaa glossary in the wikibook helpful in finding definitions of various Arimaa jargon. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Arimaa/Glossary Basically the different types of game speed are: Postal - typically one day or more per move Regular - about minute or more per move Fast - about 30 seconds per move Blitz - about 15 seconds per move Lightning - about 8 seconds per move I can barely keep up at the Blitz speed and will probably always lose on time at Lightning speed :-) |
