Title: Complete bot massacre Post by Victorwss on Feb 27th, 2010, 7:08pm After losing a game against bot_GnoBot2005P2, I decided to smash a much weaker bot just for fun. I chose bot_Aamira2006P1, a very weak bot. I took an objective to me: Win without loosing a single piece. The result was much better than I planned, it was a complete massacre. I killed every piece of the bot (including the elephant) and did not lost a single one. The game is here: http://arimaa.com/arimaa/games/jsShowGame.cgi?gid=136159&s=w This proves that the bot was really stupid. However, this is not my point. I want to know if somebody here already managed to do this with a higher bot (maybe except for killing the elephant)? I would like to see such games. ;D |

Title: Re: Complete bot massacre Post by Janzert on Feb 27th, 2010, 9:28pm You can find the current* bot bashing records here (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/mwiki/index.php/Bot_Bashers). Although the specific type of game you mention isn't included (anymore?). Janzert * It looks like the last updates were done May of last year, not sure if it's just nobody has beaten any of them since or it just hasn't been updated. |

Title: Re: Complete bot massacre Post by novacat on Feb 28th, 2010, 4:34am There is a bot bashing thread where bashers are supposed to post new records http://arimaa.com/arimaa/forum/cgi/YaBB.cgi?board=talk;action=display;num=1147634070;start=129#129. The page has not been updated with the last few requests on that thread (starting with mine on May 14th ::) ), and no one has posted new records since June 16th 2009. |

Title: Re: Complete bot massacre Post by omar on Mar 3rd, 2010, 3:43pm I think Mark used to post the bot bashing records. I haven't seen him in a while. If someone else would like to take over, please let me know. |

Title: Re: Complete bot massacre Post by Victorwss on Mar 5th, 2010, 3:30pm I were doing this massacre with another bot. I forced his elephant to suicide and there was just some rabbits left, all but one immobilized. However, instead of continuing to play, the bot lost by submitting an illegal move. :o The game: http://www.arimaa.com/arimaa/gameroom/opengamewin.cgi?client=1&gameid=136714&role=v&side=w Is this a bug in the bot or the bot resigned intentionally? |

When I am trying to force Bomb to lose on illegal move / time (forcing 3 times repetition), it does not allow me this and makes illegal move sooner (so I have applied this (almost) successfully only to clueless once). May be there is a bug when just one move is possible Bomb choses illegal move instead. But if I allow Bomb to sacrify it's last rabbit, it prefers it to seen immobilisation so the illegal move may be it's kind of succide. It's hard to value moves when both players know the result of the game is decided. This is an example ... http://arimaa.com/arimaa/games/jsShowGame.cgi?gid=136812&s=b it plays something like "Ra8s Ra8s Ra8s Ra8s" (this time I was trying another final pattern). |
