The Z-man Arimaa set is on Tanga.com today for $12.
You'll never find a better set for this price.

Thanks for posting Dave!  That is an incredible deal.

I've checked the FAQ for Tanga but cannot find the answer to this question:  is this for US residents only or do they ship worldwide?

I just checked their FAQ and perhaps it changed it is only to the lower 48 states. :-(

Where do you ship?

We only ship our products within the continental United States. The exception to this rule are magazines and t-shirts where we ship in all 50 states. We do not ship outside the country unfortunately for our amigos down south and even our 朋友 way out east.

Oh for goodness sake why not?? Is it really so hard to pay you extra to go down to DHL or sommat?

Some shops have strange policies. I remember asking my net friend from California to buy something online for me and re-send it to me just because the shop did not want to ship outside the US and Canada.

With the limited experience that I have shipping overseas, I can say that yes, it is really much more difficult (and expensive) to ship internationally than to ship within the US.  With the small margins Tanga is making on this set, I suspect that it's just not worth it to them to make that extra effort.  They could certainly make the shipping charges high enough to make it worth their effort - but then the deal would probably not look nearly as good.

For me, shipping sets is part of a hobby, so I'm not as concerned with making a profit.  If it were my full time job though, I would probably follow the same model as Tanga, limiting shipment to the US only - at least at first.  In fact, I initially planned on only shipping to US addresses.  It's only because I have a neighbor who has some experience with this that I decided to try it.  Having tried it, I can say that shipping internationally is much more work.

Nevertheless it's great that you decided to ship worldwide.  :D

Just got my Arimaa set in the mail from Tanga.  After I opened the box, to my surprise - I had 2 silver elephants and 0 silver camels!!!

Who at Zman do I need to contact to get the correct piece?

I had a similar problem in one of the twelve sets I purchased; four silver dogs and zero silver cats.  Zman graciously corrected the error, but that doesn't help me advise you, since that was in person at the Board Game Geek conference.

How about http://www.zmangames.com/contact.htm ?

Wow, that's strange. Usually Zev handles these by mailing out the missing pieces. Here is the contact info: http://zmangames.com/contact.htm
