Gday All,

Since Arimaa players will probably have several common interests, I thought it would be good to have a 'circle' of arimaa players on the new social networking platform Google+.

I have an account, and I can invite anyone who is interested... Just post or PM me your email, and I'll invite you.

Great Idea!
I've wanted an invite to Google+ for quite a while now, and will definitely Join the Arimaa circle. My Google Account is also named Nazgand.

I've never used facebook, but I like google ... if it would be ok for a dinosaur like me to join, then my gmail username is that same one as this one (only lower case).

Wow, a couple days in and I'm already lost with the names. So I've got Knarl, Nazgand, mistre and rabbits. I suppose JT is Joel. Oh, and I just found Ivan. Can't find the others though. So, swinndla, what's your real name mate? ;)

I got the same ones as you, Jean.  Is Ivan eltripas?  It would be helpful if everyone would either provide their real name here or put their Arimaa name on their google+ profile somewhere.

It is my understanding that you create your own circles, add who you want, and call it what you want.  Everyone's circle is independent of everyone else's circle (if that makes sense).

You're right FireBorn, but there is another thing in google+ actually called "Hangouts". You can start a hangout, which is actually a group video conference. When I saw it, the first thing I thought was, "that would have been perfect for some of the Arimaa online festival events."

:( I'm behind the times and have missed the boat.  I just tried getting into Google+ and the page said they were in limited field trial... "Already invited? We've temporarily exceeded our capacity. Please try again soon."

Poor choice  of words from google, but if you are invited you should be able to get in, a friend just got in a few minutes ago, you can't get in without an invitation though.

The invitation knarl gives is for google+, not for the arimaa circle.

I think they're weeding out names that obviously mean things. Like megajester. However "Swynndla" doesn't mean anything, in fact if you told me it was a real name I'd hazard a guess it was Welsh or something. If I was in Google's position I wouldn't want to risk insulting some Welshman.

Edit: I just realised that "Swynddla" does mean something if you pronounce it "Swindler" as you usually would, but I still reckon they wouldn't risk it.
