i have recently adjusted my settings and turned my invite option to "on". i am just wondering, how will i know when someone invites me to a game? will something pop up on my screen? or do i need to go to some link to check for any current invites or something?

Something should pop up on your screen. Unfortunately people are often reluctant to issue a challenge. You will get some challenges just by turning your flag on, but you'll get more by going into the chatroom and asking if anyone wants to play. You might even be able to arrange regular games with someone around your skill level if you ask around in the forum or chatroom.
