I just played a bot ladder game against bot_Arimaazilla in which no pieces were trapped until the final play of the game.
Just thought it was interesting.

If you are going to bring up a game we probably would like to see it :P

It is kind of cute. I think there was a human game (maybe a WC game?) where the winner's elephant was sacrificed as part of a goal sequence, with no other captures made.
I would look for it, but I'm afraid it would be difficult to find.

The game to which browni3141 refers (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/gameroom/comments.cgi?gid=218654) is currently rather prominently mentioned on the wikipedia page for Computer Arimaa. (Or at least, that is a game that meets his criteria.)
