Title: Is mankind in trouble? Post by Ail on Feb 19th, 2014, 6:08pm syed 2529 bot_sharp 2524 Fritzlein 2495 chessandgo 2433 Adanac 2360 browni3141 2354 Sharp is in 2nd place with only 5 ELO below the first human. That does certainly not look like a comfortable advantage. So is mankind in danger to lose Arimaa to the machines aswell? |

Title: Re: Is mankind in trouble? Post by browni3141 on Feb 19th, 2014, 7:14pm The gameroom ratings are highly volatile, and also easy to manipulate. Sharp's rating is high due to volatility (It won several games when it had a high RU), and syed's is high due to manipulating his rating by repeatedly defeating weaker bots. In reality, sharp is probably several hundred points behind the top player at a 2min/move time control. I do not expect the chosen Challenge defenders to have difficulty this year. Rather, I expect that the two "elite" defenders win their first two games, and win their third at a handicap if they are adventurous enough to try. |
