Title: Teaching Arimaa to Young Children
Post by phairland on Dec 15th, 2014, 8:57am
Hi, this is my first message in the forum. I was introduced to Arimaa while playing chess online a few years ago. Did not play much at that time, but now that my daughter is 7 years old I thought it will be a good idea to introduce Arimaa to her by buying the Arimaa set from ZGames as a Christmas present. I already ordered it and I should get it this week, hopely before Christmas.

As I live far apart from my daughter (about 600mi) I only see her every few weeks, so I thought about playing board games with her to develop our relationship further.

So my question is if anyone have experience of teaching Arimaa to young children and how it went.

Here's a link to an older forum discussion.  I know that how to call the pieces and things like that have been discussed before.
