Dallas TX seems to be on the center line of US. I could probably go either way. But since the Yankies already have 3 players as of now and no-one yet in the Rockies, I'll step to this side.

Go Rockies!!!

Dear Rockies Members

FRIENDLY MATCH: We are planning to have friendly matches on the week of the 14-20 December. We need only a 3 player roster from each of the teams, so please reply here to let us know if you think you will be able to play a game on that week, and at what times.

TEAM CAPTAIN: We had hoped to have a captain for you by now, but unfortunately the candidates selected have taken a long time to respond.

All a Team Captain basically does is encourage new players to join the club, rally the team, and determine who will play on what table in matches. If you think you would like the task of Team Captain, please message me or reply here. If more than one person applies the highest rated applicant will be selected.

Thank you.

Just to be official here, I have thrown myself into the Club Europa clubhouse, which is nearly empty so nobody caught me and I knocked over a hat rack.  The power vacuum has resulted in me, a complete newbie, being elected team captain!   :o

I encourage those of European descent, or those who have simply heard of Europe, to cast off the shackles of your birthplace and get back to your roots.  JOIN TEAM EUROPA!

Greetings current and potential future members of the Rockies!

It looks like league play could start as early as this coming April.  Right now the team captains are polling their teams regarding their interest and availability in playing this spring, to determine the numbers of games per match.

So, if you're interested in playing this spring, please reply, indicating about how often you might like to play.

Fritzlein already indicated he's probably available all spring and could play if needed.

As for me, I'm generally available and would prefer to play in about one-half of the matches or so, but could play more often if needed.

So, we already have one game covered, and two games in a pinch.

Also, additional players, from beginner to top-rated, are more than welcome to join this very fine team!

Thanks!

    camelback

We're off to a good start, but could use some more players.

Go Rockies!

Awesome!  Welcome to the team.  If you have been following the discussions about the salary cap, you will know that the Rockies presently suffer from a severe lack of flexibility.  Your availability will give our captain a lot more strategic options.  Thanks for signing up!

Great! Good to hear you're likely available to play, starjots.  Now we have eight members, five of which have recently expressed an interest in playing:

    Fritzlein
    ChrisB
    ngerhart
    camelback
    starjots

This is looking pretty good, but we could still use more players.

I'm thinking of using the private message feature provided by this forum to discuss our lineups.  (One could access this feature by clicking on the "you have X messages" at the top of this page.)  It looks like megajester will put out the player list with ratings around April 12, with the games starting the next week.  So we'll need to start our heavy discussions of our lineup very soon after the 12th.  If anyone has any preliminary thoughts, please send a private message to me and the other team members.

Besides the five members I mentioned above, other members of our fine team are:

    omar
    ice
    722caasi

Thanks!

Greetings team!

Big match coming up next week against the formidable Team Europa!  But we're good too, so it should be a good one.

I sent an instant message to all of the team members regarding our lineup and requesting your level of interest in playing.  Since we don't want to tip off our opponent as to who's likely to play, please let me know your level of interest either through the instant message feature of this forum or by sending me an e-mail at CPBovee@charter.net.

Thanks!

Looks like I got to the party too late, so all the support I can give right now is of the moral variety.

Go Rockies!

Welcome to the Rockies tfitzgib!

No, you're definitely not too late in joining.  We're just starting the first of six rounds.  If your schedule works out OK, it would be great to have you as a potential player in the future rounds.  It looks like your budget value will start at a very nice 1500, which is 420 points under the base value of 1920.

Thanks for the moral support already!

Hi 722caasi,

In case you haven't seen your personal messages, you are scheduled to play Knarl this week.  If you haven't already done so, you need to select your preferred times before 5 pm today, your time.  This can be done by first clicking on the "Register" link in the "Announcements" section of the Gameroom and then clicking on "select the times".

If you have already done this, Great!  You're all set.  But, if you're not available to set your preferred time at this late hour, we'll need to get a substitute player.

Sorry about not reaching you sooner on your game.  If you don't see this in time, I hope you can get to play in some of the later rounds.

Thanks!

Thanks also to you, ngerhart.  You really had Nombril over the barrel before he squirmed free.  I like our chances to sweep the return match.

Hi, Aamir.  It's good to see you around.  You were just one day too late to get in on Round 2, but there will certainly be a slot for you in later rounds if you are still available.  Normally team communication occurs by private forum messages, which means you need to check in to the forum about ten days from now to volunteer for Round 3.

Well, with less than six hours before the roster deadline, we're still short one player.  If you're on the edge between playing or not playing, perhaps giving us a full roster will tip the balance.  Hopefully, we'll get a full roster to take part in the fun and excitement.

If you're up for being part of the action, please let me know by private message or through this forum as soon as you can.
