Title: Bot Squad Clubhouse

To all bot developers!

If you would like to enter your bot as a player in the 2010 Arimaa World League Sequel, please make a post in this thread!

If you would be willing to be the captain and co-ordinate the team, please step forward!

(And if anybody thinks they've got a better name for this team let's have that as well.)

If anyone thinks that such a team would benefit from a bot rated 1500-1600, I'm in (though hopefully it will get better after I come back from vacation).

The team would benefit from having enough bots on it to compete.  :)  But seriously, if the other two bots were quad and marwin, the team would need a lower-rated bot in order to stay within budget.

I propose that the bots chosen from Bot Squad to play in each round of the tournament must be chosen by an AI captain.

I see. Not that it changes your point much, but if there are only two more bots it's more likely it would be clueless and Opfor, since I never see marwin or tize around these days. Maybe badger could join too, since Paul seems to be a bit active.

I think an AI captain is impractical unless somebody steps forward to program it. We need a human who is not affiliated to any of the four human teams to volunteer.

We're not even seeing many bot developers stepping into the team, it's definitely too optimistic to expect someone to take the time to develop an AI team captain.

I don't know if the AI captain idea was a joke or not, but it's definitely a very funny and appropriate idea.

I would enter my bot, but I haven't worked on it at all in the last two months, and it plays only at the level of a beginner human...

I thought the bots don't have WHR so this team has all players at 1500 by the rules. So marwin, quad and clueless could play each round without care for budget. But it may be interesting to substitute some other bot occasionally.

... in that case it would be really easy to code AI for chosing the players :). But yes, the board numbers could be chosen, but random generator would work well.
