A reminder to all managers: Rosters must be submitted to me (megajester) either by email or forum message before 00:00 GMT tonight.

Please bear in mind that failing to field a player for a table results in immediate forfeit, whereas a fielded player can be substituted, provided the substitute ranks no more than 100 points above the original player. Also note that the ratings of the players who actually play, and not the players originally rostered, is deducted from your ratings budget.

This season there will also be awards:

Awarded each round:

    There will be a special thread for each round where anybody from the community can nominate somebody from that round for one or more of the awards. The awards will decided by the Organizer based on the nominations.

    Note: Approval has been given to change the time controls to 60s/4m/100/0/4h/4m for the duration of the season.

    I thought it might be helpful to just remind everybody how rescheduling works this season:

    From the Rules (http://arimaa.com/arimaa/mwiki/index.php/League_Rules), with important bits emphasized:

    7.1 If a player wishes to reschedule, he must contact his opponent. The opponent is under no obligation to agree to a rescheduling. A game must be played within 96 hours (4 days) of its originally-scheduled time.

    7.1.1 After players have privately agreed to reschedule the game, one of them must open a new thread in the "2011 Arimaa World League" section of the forum, stating that he and his opponent are rescheduling their official League game, providing the exact time. Once both players have clearly signalled their agreement in the thread, this game is considered the official game. The game advertised by the system in the gameroom is invalidated and is allowed to lapse.

    7.1.2 Players may repeat the procedure in 7.1.1 as many times as they wish if necessary. In every instance both players have the right to refuse a rescheduling.

    7.1.3 At the game time, the players must sign into the chatroom to prove they are present. One must issue a challenge to the other as the exact same color and with the exact same time controls as the scheduled game. He must state in the challenge that this is the official game.

    7.1.4 If the conditions under 7.1.3 are met the opponent is obligated to accept or else forfeit. However if these conditions are not met the opponent should not accept.

    7.1.5 Before clicking Start, both players must enter the chatroom and state the game number and that they accept it as the official game.

    7.1.6 If any of steps 7.1.1 to 7.1.5 are not carried out as required, the game may be disallowed subject to the discretion of the Director, resulting in a forfeit by either or both players depending on who is at fault.

    (I'd just like to clarify that the purpose of 7.1.6 is as a way to solve problems if anybody is disadvantaged. The important thing is that the result is fair.)

    The Rockies are back in the game with a respectable 2-1 win over Europa, but the Ring of Fire have managed another hat-trick against the Atlantics, putting them 6 whole points clear of the nearest opposition.

    Also I would like to announce (better late than never) that Nombril is our Player of the Round for Round 2! Anybody who can make a camel sacrifice like that and get away with it deserves a round of applause.

    So, who do you think deserves the prize in Round 3? Or did you spot anything worthy of the other trophies? Check out the Awards Discussion thread for more...

    The Ringers coasted to a well-deserved third straight league victory. Well done to them and to everybody who took part and made it so much fun!

    Don't forget to make your nominations for Players of the Round for Rounds 5 and 6, and for the other end-of-season awards that will be handed out soon.
