Title: List of Top 10 Mind-bending Strategy Games
Post by omar on Apr 12th, 2010, 4:27pm
Recently the Discovery Channel web site HowStuffWorks.com made a list of the
Top 10 Mind-bending Strategy Games

They considered both strategy board games and strategy video games. Their selection criteria was:

"What makes a game mind-bending? The best games demand both rigorous thinking and finely tuned intuition to outwit a human or computer opponent. The games may allow for subtle feints or include unexpected twists. What finally marks mind-bending strategy games is that they keep you engaged -- they're so involving that you don't want to stop playing."

Arimaa placed 3rd behind Galactic Civilizations (a video game) and Go. This is amazing considering that it placed higher than many well known video games.

I checked the "New Players" link in the Gameroom and 4 players have already listed "HowStuffWorks" as the reason they discovered Arimaa.  That was some great publicity!
