bot losing on time

bot_speedy lost on time today at move 5, but the server told the program that it had 114 seconds of reserve when it called getmove.exe. It thought for 30 seconds, and stopped, sending the move after 31 seconds.
Why did it lose on time? I'm concerned because this might happen during the competition. My time control depends on the reserve time being correct.
