Title: Human-AI co-evolution
Post by leo on Aug 30th, 2003, 12:59am
Would you like to share your views on the fact that Arimaa is being explored concurrently by the humans and AIs (or AI-designers until we have a really auto evolving AI)?

The human playing in Chess can be challenged at times by new strategies discovered by AIs, or successful anti-computer strategies are being developed.

Arimaa is unique not only by its game rules, but also by this human vs. AI race to discover the abstract space of the game...

Hi Leo :D

There may be as big a difference between some humans as between humans and AI's. Aliens are among us :o and we all are co-evolving.

I liked your second game against Arimazilla. You came with a new land to explore. Neat style :)

Really? I had the impression I missed the point entirely :o I lack practice terribly...

PS: How about starting a thread about your Quantum Leapfrog? I'm curious...

This is certainly true for Bomb.  When it loses a game, I learn something new about evaluation, and I improve the AI, so the AI is evolving based on human play.

I think the AI is not discovering anything new.  It is just propagating playing techniques from one player to others.
