Title: Monte Carlo and hardware-independent play
Post by Fritzlein on Dec 4th, 2006, 5:35pm
Omar, one requirement for the Computer Championship is that the bots have an option for hardware-independent playing strength.  What does this mean for bots with a random component?  Do they have to use the same random seed every time (and thus not be random), or is it enough that they limit themselves to a fixed number of nodes to examine?

I think an option to limit the number of nodes examined would be sufficient. However, it would be nice if there was also an option to provide the seed.
