Title: Linux port for computer competition
Post by fotland on Dec 20th, 2004, 12:59pm
Omar,

What is the plan for getting the bots ported to Linux for the computer competition?  When will your servers be ready?  What is the deadline for completing the port?  I'd like time to do the port and have a week or so for testing.  Bomb has a getmove driver that should port easily since it's the same as last year's, but there might be some latent bugs in the Windows version that only show up on Linux, and it's much more difficult to debug in the Linux environment.

I presume Omar has sent you the info now.

He has not sent me anything about the port yet.  And he has not replied to my e-mail asking about it.

Perhaps there is some email antispam interference, but I've looked through all my antispam filtered messages.

Hi David,

I had sent this email last Wed with the
login info to the server to port Bomb. I guess
you didn't get the email. I am including it again
below. Sorry I didn't see your post earlier.

Hi David,

Your account is setup and you can start porting
your bot to the linux server. Just SSH or FTP to
 gold.arimaa.com

login: bomb
password: changeit

There is a README file in the home directory
with instructions on how to setup the bot.
You can login to the account and setup the
bot until midnight Jan 4th GMT. After that
the logins will be disabled.

Let me know if you have any problems or
questions. Good luck.

Omar
